Without Chicago there'd be no The All Night Society so our charity donation for this month goes to Brave Space Alliance, the first Black- and trans-led LGBTQ+ center on Chicago's South Side.
In addition to employment, legal, and mental health support services BSA provides emergency housing relief for LGBTQ+ community members, operate a food pantry, and provide funding for trans funerals.
The bulk of Chicago's LGBTQ+ service organizations are located on the North Side which forces residents elsewhere in the city to not only incur significant travel costs, but also subject themselves to hyper-policing as BIPOC in predominantly white neighborhoods.
Brave Space Alliance allows them to access critical resources and services in their own communities, filling the gap in services to BIPOC trans and gender-nonconforming people on the South and West Sides of Chicago.
